L'Oreal True Match
Foundation

Welcome back everyone, so lately I've been asked what foundation do I use on a day to day basis.
For everyday purposes I don't really tend to use a high end foundation I do prefer to save them for when I go out or for something important so there's a difference in the way my skin looks. Loreal True Match foundation is my go to for everyday flawless skin.

Before I start this review I'd like to say that these are my own opinions based on my skin type, which is normal/dry.

Product description by L'Oreal

L'Oreal's #1 foundation is now available in 23 shades and matches 98% of UK skintones. L'Oreal's velvety formula matches your skin’s unique tone and texture, for a true to skin finish: flawless, blendable, and never fake.
L'Oreal's 23 shades range from warm to neutral to cool undertones, to ensure your foundation is right for you. Whilst your skin tone is visible on the surface and can alter through the seasons, your skin undertones are determined at a deeper level, they are part of your skin and never change. Each complexion has its own undertone: pink (cool), neutral or golden (warm), so you can now find a match that’s true to you.

This foundation is a medium coverage foundation but can be built to a full coverage with an extra layer, it has neither a matte or dewy finish instead more of a satin finish and it does give a blurred effect to the skin to help conceal lines and blemishes. It is very lightweight so the formula is quite running but it is so comfortable on the skin it feels like you are wearing nothing.

I like the wear this foundation has on my skin throughout the day, I find my skin has a lovely glow and still has a great amount of coverage without breaking down and looking patchy or shining. (Please note I do not wear a lot of powder with this foundation because I have dry skin I don't need a lot, I just do a small dusting all over, but you may want a bit more if your skin is on the more oily side.)

I do wear Benefit's Porefessional primer with this foundation on days my skin has more texture to conceal as this helps balance it out better. On days when I'm having a good skin day I use Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow underneath, both work great.

I apply this foundation using a buffing brush, I do find sometimes depending on how my skin is it wont blend as well and will just move the product around on my skin so in areas I need a little extra coverage I build up with a damp beauty blender and then to finish I go over with my damp beauty blender which really helps to give me a blurred flawless finish.
I have found that after around 30 mins this foundation does oxidise the tiniest amount, and I am on about the tiniest amount people not a whole shade colour so please do not let that put you off. My advise is to just make sure you buy the exact colour for your skin, do your makeup in natural daylight and take it down your neck slightly. Finish your makeup and hair then go in and check.

With 23 shades to choose from it can be a little over whelming but they have what I think to be one of the best shade ranges for a drug store foundation, with a great selection of warm, cool and neutral shades there literally is a shade to suit everyone!
Overall the L'Oréal True Match foundation has become my go to every day foundation, it has a very lightweight but buildable formula which doesn't end up looking cakey. Its ever so easy to blend and looks great on the skin throughout the day.

** (The photo above shows my whole face covered with the Loreal True Match foundation, with blusher bronzer and concealer added where I needed more coverage, which was around my chin, mouth, nose and temples.)**

Pros:

- Easy to blend

- It's a very lightweight formula which is comfortable on the skin

- A very broad shade range

- Photographs nicely

- One layer provides a medium coverage but it builds very easily to a full coverage foundation

- It has a SP17 which helps ward off pro-aging sun damage

Cons:

- A small amount of oxidisation occurs

- Clogging around the nozzle of the pump can be a small problem so you must keep it clean

- I find for best results it needs to be pushed in with a beauty blender at the end and cannot just be finished with a buffing brush

Have a Fabulous Day!
